OWN (Oprah Winfrey’s Network) is being sued

A former executive assistant at OWN (Oprah Winfrey’s Network), Catherine Dunn, is suing the newly started cable network for wrongful termination and discrimination. Catherine has multiple sclerosis and believes she was fired due to her illness. She began working for OWN back in August of 2008 and says her legal action was a long overdue.
Catherine claims she was forced to take stress leave and a leave of absences due to her MS symptoms flaring because of a reportedly “hostile work environment.” According to Catherine’s lawsuit, her position was filled by a younger, non-disabled employee while she was on leave.
A spokesperson for OWN told E! News, “We have not seen the lawsuit. We are unaware of the claims. When and if we see something we will review appropriately.”
