Maryland attorney arrested in child sex sting

Baltimore County police detectives removed computers, and computer equipment from the Essex home of 47-year-old Scott Kalin, hours after he was arrested Florida and charged with attempting to arrange a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old boy.
Charging documents show that when Kalin arrived at what he thought was the boy’s home in Lake County Florida — with a box of condoms and liquid lubricant –he was met by Lake County investigators, and taken into custody.
Kalin is an attorney and also the owner of a business in Lutherville called “Funhouse Entertainment Agency” … Which arranges magicians and other entertainers for parties
The company’s web site says Kalin himself is quote, ‘A master balloon artist who is loved by kids and adults alike’
Neighbors said they’re surprised by the charges adding that Kalin seemed like a good husband and father to his two teenage boys
“Very nice he was always interested in what everybody was doing, though. Watch everything. Liked to look in houses too when the doors were open,” says Jackie Green, who lives on Kalin’s street.
Investigators in Florida also say that when he was communicating with what he thought was the teen-age boy, Kalin said he’d had other ‘near sexual encounters’ with other teenage children.
Baltimore County investigators are sure to look for evidence of that in the equipment they removed from Scott Kalin’s home.
A Lake County Sheriffs deputy says Kalin has confessed to the charges and he is currently being held without bond.
