Mariah Carey spoke with GMA on the lost of her friend Whitney Houston

Feb 21st, 2012 by Bilal Ali

Mariah Carey stopped by “Good Morning America” earlier to speak publicly for the first time (besides Twitter) about the loss of her good friend Whitney Houston.

she’s a mom to twins Moroccan & Monroe, a wife (and nurse) to Nick Cannon, and was a good friend to the late Whitney Houston.  When Mariah was asked by Robin Roberts today on “GMA” about her relationship with the legendary singer, whom she collabo’d with on “When You Believe,” Mariah was very emotional and still in a bit of shock.

Fighting back the tears, she revealed about their relationship, “I’m almost incapable of talking about it. It’s very heavy for me emotionally….It was great and I don’t think people could ever understand our relationship … there was always this supposed rivalry in the beginning and then we did the duet and we became friends.  I loved her. We all loved her. May she rest in peace … her legend’s gonna go on forever.”

About the funeral she attended this weekend, Mariah said, “It was such a class act.  The way she went out and the way family dealt with it, I was very moved.”â€
