Berks Jazz Festival Announces Lineup For 2010

The Berks Jazz Fest, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2010, has announced its lineup for next year’s show, which will be held over 10 days from March 19 to March 28. It’s presented by the Berks Arts Council and will have 130 events at various venues, clubs and restaurants throughout Reading and Berks County, PA.
Chris Botti will perform at the Reading Eagle Theater on opening night, March 19. Also on tap: Keiko Matsui, Boney James, Peter White and Mindi Abair, Gregg Karukas, Euge Groove, Kim Waters and Kenny Lattimore, the Electric Mingus Project featuring Gerald Veasley, Brian Bromberg and Friends, Rick Braun and Friends, Earl Klugh, Guitarzzz featuring Chuck Loeb, Chieli Minucci and Paul Jackson Jr., Joe McBride, Nick Colionne, Eric Darius, Jessy J, Oli Silk, Jackiem Joyner, and the Berks All-Star Jam Band, among others.
Also in the lineup: Blood, Sweat and Tears performing for its 41st anniversary, and the Music of Grover Washington Jr. featuring Jason Miles, Gerald Albright, Walter Beasley, Chante Moore, Randy Brecker, Jeff Golub, Ada Rovatti, Buddy Williams, Ralph MacDonald and Neal Jason.
Several of the artists who performed during the first festival in 1991 will be returning, including Wynton Marsalis with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band, and Turtle Island Quartet with special guest Cyrus Chestnut.
