Jay-Z’s new book due out this November
Aug 8th, 2010 by Bilal Ali
The life and times of S. Carter have been discussed through rap lyrics, documentaries and behind the music specials, but if you want a deeper account of Jay-Z’s life you can read about it in his new autobiography - Decoded. According to ROLLING STONE, the book will offer explanations about some of Jay-Z lyrics. Jay-Z explained to the mag:
“I’m gonna pick select ones … all the double-entendres and things that people may have missed or may have gotten and want confirmation on it. It’s not anything I haven’t said in the past, in songs. It’s just more detailed. A song is three minutes long. A book doesn’t have to rhyme, and it has no time limit, so you can say exactly how everything went.”
Jay-Z teamed up with The Source editor Dream Hampton for the 336 page book, which will include interviews with Jay-Z’s family and friends as well as the rapper, himself.
Since Decoded was completed several years ago, it has not been revealed whether it will feature additional chapters detailing Jay-Z’s last few years, including The Blueprint 3, his 360 deal with Live Nation, being a part owner of the New Jersey Nets or his marriage to Beyonce. Decoded is slated to hit bookstores November 16th.
