Kellogg’s Recalls 28 Million Boxes Of Cereal

Jun 27th, 2010 by Bilal Ali

Kellogg Co. is voluntarily recalling about 28 million boxes of Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops and Honey Smacks cereals.

Kellogg is saying that a “waxy” smell and flavor is coming from the package liners that could make people sick.

J. Adaire Putnam, Kellogg’s spokes woman, said about 20 people complained about the smell including five who reported nausea and vomiting.

Putnam says that the potential for serious health problems is low

She added that the lining in the cereals’ boxes produced the smell and flavor.

Kellogg still has not identified the substance in the liner that is causing the problem.

The products that they are recalling were distributed throughout the U.S. and have been on the market since late March.
