A female inmate in an Indiana jail has painful blisters covering her face and body after she says nurses continued to give her the wrong medication for weeks.
24-year-old Lekeia Brown is incarcerated at the Tippanoe County jail for not paying child support and suffers from seizures.
Brown says nurses at the facility continued to give her the wrong medicine for her seizures for weeks leaving her with Stevens Johns Syndrome, a potentially deadly skin disease that causes the epidermis to separate from the dermis.
She tells WLFI,
“I was dehydrated. I was dizzy. I was getting my migraines back and I kept complaining, complaining about it and then by the fourth week, this is what I looked like.â€
The Tippanoe County sheriff is said to be conducting an internal investigation on the jail’s nursing staff.
