Mary J. Blige Wants Anita Baker For Planned Jazz CD
Dec 30th, 2009 by Bilal Ali
R&B vocalist Mary J. Blige has made no secret about who she wants to collaborate with on an upcoming jazz CD, which would be her first: Anita Baker. In an interview with The Associated Press, Blige was asked who she’s like to work with in the future. “I haven’t had a chance to collaborate with Anita Baker yet. So when I do my jazz album, Anita, I’m coming for you.”
Blige says she doesn’t have an idea when the jazz CD would come out, but added that “it won’t be long.” Blige’s latest CD, Stronger With Each Tear, was just released this month.
Baker’s last regular studio CD was 2004’s My Everything, which included the smooth jazz hit single “You’re My Everything.” She released a holiday CD, Christmas Fantasy, in 2005.
