MATHEW KNOWLES ‘PROUD’ OF BEYONCE

Sep 16th, 2009 by Bilal Ali

*Beyonce’s manager/father Mathew Knowles says he is proud of his daughter’s actions regarding Taylor Swift at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, and denies reports that the whole thing was his idea.

Bey gave up her Video of The Year acceptance speech to welcome the country singer back out onstage at Radio City Music Hall after Kanye West had interrupted her moment after winning for Best Female Video.

“It wasn’t my decision to bring Taylor out. It was all Beyonce’s decision. I want to be clear about that,” he told Usmagazine.com.” My job is to execute and come up with some ideas, but ultimately that was Beyonce’s decision.

“I can only say it was a proud night for me as a manager, but more importantly as a father. I’ve always said the thing that makes me most proud about Beyonce is not how many records she’s sold or how many plaques she has or how many awards; it’s that she’s a genuine, good person. I know it’s hard for people to believe that she can really be that nice of a person, but she really is.”

As previously reported, TMZ.com cited a source who said Mr. Knowles approached the teen star outside her dressing room to make sure she was okay and to discuss ways to make up for West’s behavior.
