Boyfriend charged with killing woman, daughter

-Amid the grim task of planning the funeral of her son-in-law’s four year old daughter Darry’el, Brenda Wall got the first piece of news that’s made any kind of sense in the last couple of days.
“This has been hard on everybody but he is behind bars where he needs to be.”
Baltimore County Police arrested 28 year old Brian Lamont Eggleston, Alicia Avery’s current boyfriend.
Investigators charged him with the first degree murders in the shooting deaths of both Avery and her daughter, but more charges may be coming. Avery was indeed pregnant, her family says with twins.
“It could result in a third homicide charge, it could. But again we have to wait for the medical examiner to make a determination as to whether or not that is in fact a homicide,” said Baltimore County Police Chief Jim Johnson.
Police say Avery and Eggleston had a recent history of arguing with one another.
A fact combined with the crime scene that led investigators to charge Eggleston who was already being held in Baltimore city, picked up on a separate drug charge Monday.
County police say he will eventually be transferred to their custody to face the murder charges.
A consolation, all be it a small one as one family prepares to bury another.
“I’m glad that he finally charged him because I just had a feeling he did it from when they first heard about it and, oh my God this is hard….it can’t bring Darry’el back to us,” wept Wall.
On Tuesday, Baltimore County police released information saying Avery was in Towson because of a city witness relocation program.
Baltimore City Police sources say they found the bodies when they went to check on Avery because she was a witness in a criminal trial. After gaining entry into the apartment, city detectives immediately suspected domestic violence.
A spokesperson for Baltimore County Police says they suspected a domestic violence case within the first 12 hours of the investigation.
At a news conference this morning, Baltimore City Police Commissioner Fred Bealefeld said he was dismayed about why County Police would release any information about her being a witness, when all investigators suspected domestic violence from the start.
